I WILL ONLY HIRE THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST
“Drain the swamp!” and “I only hire the best and brightest!” were the words Donald Trump uttered in 2016 prior to his election. There was nothing but praise for his cabinet hires. Trump was his own CEO, CFO, HR and every other administrative position for his companies and surrounded himself with only lawyers, confidants and family to shield him from himself. He was and is very litigious and threatens lawsuits when cornered. Trump calls the surrounding of himself with a lead shield “total transparency”.
His initial cabinet was as promised intelligent, bright and well respected in their fields and within the ranks of the old guard Republican Party. Times changed when each of the individuals below had to deal with a person that was ill informed, counters sound advice with gut instinct and uses friends with their own agenda to make unwise decisions. This created conflict within the ranks and one by one they saw the light and objected to his actions and were either asked for their resignation or gave it willingly.
Rex Tilllerson, former Secretary of State, was the first to go calling Trump a ___ing Idiot. For his honesty, Tillerson said of Trump he is “a man who’s pretty undisciplined” Trump called Tillerson “dumb as a rock and way over his head.”
James “Mad Dog” Mattis, former Secretary of Defense, had the respect of all the services and was silent out of respect for the office, in recent interview said of Trump, “three years without mature leadership.” Trump said he was “overrated”
John Kelly, former Chief of Staff, when discussing Trump in an interview said, “We need to look harder at who we elect”
John Bolton, former National Security Advisor. In fact, the same advisor that was praised when hired as being a counter to the thinking of other advisors and touted this thinking as a good thing. In his book, Bolton claims Trump is “stunningly uninformed” Trump called him a “Wacko”.
Bob Corker, current Senator from Tennessee, said of the Trump Administration, it was an “adult day care” as the President does things for his own self interests. Sorry Bob, he did say he could “monetize the presidency” apparently licking his lips. This is one of his promises kept.
Jeff Sessions, former Alabama Senator and Attorney General was trashed by Trump for doing what was required to keep propriety. Jeff Sessions had to recuse himself, as is required when working for a political campaign and you are the chief law enforcer.
Trump wanted a Roy Cohn, a mouthpiece or consiglieri to cover for his seedy behavior in the past and currently. Trump had to fire Jeff for doing what was right. He knew if Jeff was to follow the law, he would be screwed.
Trump then hires a total sycophant who thinks the President is the universal executive and has all power and cannot be investigated, subpoenaed or be required to testify under oath. Trump finds William Barr who is more than willing to hide his head halfway up Trump’s large intestine.
Barr a real piece of work who doesn’t care about his reputation, the direction of the country or democracy, but only cares about the welfare of His Majesty Donald Trump. Barr has been willing to cover for Trump’s inadequacies and provide cover for Trump, with his lies about the Muller report in his memos.
