LEADERSHIP

The Donald declared war on the Coronavirus and declared he was a wartime President.  Leadership requires skills that are easily recognized.  They are similar to the Boy Scouts Laws.  The specific traits are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.  Let us look into why his style does not lend itself to any of the qualities necessary for leadership.  His style is that of a bully who covers his ignorance with arrogance.  He projects his flaws onto others so that and it appears his projections are from his own experiences.

 He exaggerates the truth and gaslights falsehoods.  His use of deflection and a need to appear daily, with the sycophants going to the dais sucking up to him prior to speaking on any subject. He has the personality of a needy petulant child.  His outright lies and distortions show trustworthiness?

Lets look at loyalty, with the Donald his loyalty is only to himself and sometime his family (or at least some of his progeny).  Loyalty with the Donald is a one-way street.  Blame flows downward and everyone under his control is expendable, as an excuse for his lack of the ability to take responsibility for anything that goes wrong, however he will lie about his success. Loyalty oaths and non-disclosure agreements abound in his administration. It is not very appealing to watch grown individuals supplicate themselves to someone without the hope of reciprocity. How loyal is someone that cheated on all of his wives… and one while pregnant!

Helpfulness is not an adjective I would assign to the Don.  His attitude toward the governors in the corona pandemic is gut wrenching.  He stated they should have known of the requirements and should have anticipated the need.  This is a complete rewrite of history and is not helpful.  The Donald initially stated it was a hoax, a conspiracy theory, and it would magically go away, it is like the flu.  This was his spoken words until mid-February. All of which was misinformation and not helpful. This was reversed when he spouted “who could ever have known the impact of a pandemic?”.  January 2017 prior to his inauguration the Obama transition team held a briefing with the Trump transition team where pandemics and their impacts and mitigation measures were presented. His missteps were so obvious, he daily continues to gaslight history to mislead on his initial response.  His answer was to appoint Pence so he can run him over with the bus when the stupidity and their lack of action or when things turn south.

A friend has your back and does not hold knife behind it.  Trump only uses friendships and is only interested if he sees a way to take advantage of any weakness. He is friendly in person and is known to be quite charming. 

Courtesy is not a trait I would ascribe to one that pushes foreign leaders out of the way to put himself in front of the crowd.  How about acting exaggeratedly spastic to make fun of a reporter that asked a question he did not like?  Telling a crowd to rough up someone in protest at one of his rallies.  Ascribing derogative names to individuals he has a disagreement with.

Kind, kindness assumes empathy and let’s face it he is lacking the empathetic gene.  This is evident by his treatment of those under his administration.  He trashes the media and anyone that points out the truth about what goes on behind the scenes.  Under Trump, 7 million individuals have lost their insurance and those that lost their jobs due to the pandemic have been shut out of the extended enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act.

Thrifty? Ha! Look at the greed and avarice of Trump.  His 5 bankruptcies show his lack of the ability to save.  How do you bankrupt a casino??  Thriftiness should not be mistaken for cheap.

 Look at his taking advantage of construction contractors with lawsuits and slow pay finding and at times creating faulty work so he could cheat the contractor.

Brave, let us look at his bone spurs aggravated by the Vietnam war. In time of war leadership is admired by their bravery.  Trump declares war on the pandemic and immediately turns the response to Pence and states. The federal government is only used as a backup to the states.  This attitude is a copout. The federal stockpile was established to be used in case of an emergency.  Trumps attitude suggests that, the states dropped the ball and his administration takes no responsibility. This, I would calorize as anal effluence.  Jerrod actually stated that the stockpile was never meant to be distributed to the states in the daily Trump pep rally that has contradictory information, mis-information, lies and gas light self-aggrandizement.

Clean is a relative term, consider Trump is a germaphobe. He demands everything be spotless and everyone around him looks like they came from central casting.  To Trump, appearance is loyalty and proving you must be willing to fall on your sword to cover for his inadequacies.

Being reverent, one would show respect for all individuals and any religion.  Including the Muslim, Jewish, Christian and all other deeply held beliefs.  Everyone knows Trump attitude for the Muslim faith.  Having a bias and prejudice would aptly describe the attitude of this administration.  Never attempting to lead the entire nation, only his adoring reality show cult following.

The Boy Scouts actually had him speak to that at their Jamboree.  What a role model for the Scouts. Is this kind of Leadership we need?
