Countdown 30 Day Election

California early voting begins

TRUMP-DEBATE FALLOUT

The NYTimes reported there is worry on the republican side. Trumpophiles are worried due to the debate performance fallout.  It has been reported that the mood around the campaign and the White House on Wednesday morning was described as “worried”, “quiet”, and “in shock,” people familiar with the situation said.  The consensus was he did not lose anyone in his base, however he did nothing to draw in any voters that may have been on the fence and undecided.

Trump’s comments on extremist groups may be a drag on his party.  “Trump himself wasn’t displeased with his performance.  He was elated about the debate and saw it as a successful outing.”  This according to three people close to the campaign.  Some of his advisors, “who shy away from giving him bad news, made no attempt to disabuse the president of that assessment.”

The Washington Post said: One veteran Republican Senate strategist ….said, “we are all kind of prepared to be responsible for our own performances and our own words.”  You’re not going to see anybody say it was a bad performance, but they’ll consider it like Trump’s really crazy tweets.  “They’ll say, ‘That’s not my kind of campaign, didn’t really see it’.” The strategist added that several campaigns are already deliberating on how to address Proud Boys questions at upcoming Senate debates and how to deflect from that topic. Trump did not go to his rehearsed lines and winged it and this fact has frustrated his advisors.   Prep doesn’t work with Trump.   Trump always thinks he knows best and cannot get out of his own way and listen to others advice.

Ed Luce of the Financial times wrote about Trump and his gift to Putin.  “Thanks to Donald Trump’s performance Democracy is bleeding its international image” when Trump refused to agreeing in a peaceful transition of power after the election has been certified.  The Russian dream is Trump casting doubt on the American system of elections showing us to have all these problems with accusations of fraud and rigged elections.  Trump is refusing to honor the sanctity of the vote, casting unwarranted dispersions of wanton fraud which does not help our image abroad.  His declaration of a whole class of votes, mail in ballots, as being invalid.  This shows he still wants to be, or is, Putin’s puppet an ugly American.

In the early part of the last century the Soviet Union from 1917 until 1991 tried to destroy democracy and democratic processes and its legitimacy by attacking American institutions doing the following:

  1. Attempt to destroy the integrity of our Generals and military leaders.
  2. Undermine Americas intelligence community as an enemy of Soviet Russia
  3. Attacking America as a racist country, Trump making the worst racist stories about us now being true.
  4. Undermining the basis for democracy, the democratic elections being fair and honest and provides for a peaceful transfer of power.

Donald Trump has done in 4 years all the work the former Soviet Union could not do in 80 years.  He has done Putin’s bidding.  He denigrates and abuses his generals telling them they don’t know what he knows as he is the stable genius.  He has undermined the intelligence community calling them “deep state” and firing anyone that does not agree with him.  Trump has proven to be a bigot and a racist with a xenophobic base.  That is why he cannot condemn White Nationalist groups.  As far as elections, he already falsely claimed fraud.

One of the republican conservative apologists Noah Rothmann who has been a sycophant for years made these comments on the debate performance. The Commentary Magazine article states “Trump lets conservatives down, again.  The article goes on to say:…”the president could not bring himself to commit to the idea that the results of the election will be legitimate .  He labors mightily to frame this contest as fundamentally fraudulent and he is deliberately ambiguous about weather he would facilitate a peaceful transition of power should he lose.  He wants Americans to be anxious about these threats, and they are intimidating to many.  But they should not be.  By getting in front of an event that hasn’t happened yet, the president is, in fact, discrediting the charges he will invariably levy if the election results don’t go his way.  And by laying the cognitive groundwork for his own defeat at the polls, Donald Trump has bathed himself in the stink of failure.”

The stench from the cesspool is overwhelming.  It was repulsive frightening and in no way was professional outing that has offended many.  Is he attempting to be the strong force in a lost cause?  Being macho man may work with females that think the woman’s place is in the home as the new Supreme Court has written a book about.  Losers always claim voter fraud, and the claim usually loudest when the losing party knows the election may be lost.

Tomorrow Covid-19 and the Donald.
